Technical Requirements of Cast Iron Tee (Part One)

Cast iron tee is produced according to certain technological methods and principles, which can ensure good production quality and guarantee in actual production and processing. The geometric dimensions include outer diameter, inner diameter and wall thickness. It is the requirement for packaging. For small pipe fittings, such as export, it is necessary to make wooden cases, which are about 1 cubic meter. It is stipulated that the number of elbows in such boxes should not exceed about one ton. This standard allows suits, that is, large one sets small, but the total weight should generally not exceed one ton. For large pieces, they should be packed individually, like 24 Inch tees.

The other is the packaging mark, which is to indicate the size, steel grade, batch number and manufacturer's trademark. Cast iron tee shall be stamped with steel seal and accompanied with packing list, warranty and other documents. It is also required to control the radius of curvature. For example, if the radius length is 1.5D, the radius of curvature must be within the required tolerance range. Because most of these pipe fittings are used for welding, in order to improve the welding quality, the ends are grooved with a certain angle and a certain edge. This requirement is also strict.

The thickness of the edge, the angle and the deviation range are specified, and there are many items more than the pipe fittings in geometry size. The surface quality and mechanical properties are basically the same as those of pipes. For welding convenience, the steel grade is the same as that of the connected pipe. That is, all tees should be surface treated, and the iron scales on the inner and outer surfaces should be sprayed off by shot peening, and then coated with anticorrosive paint. This is not only for export needs, but also for the convenience of transportation and prevention of corrosion and oxidation in China.
