Processing Method of Weld Neck Flanges

Weld neck flanges refer to the flange with neck, round pipe transition, and butt-welding connection with pipes. The weld neck flange is a kind of disk-shaped part, which is common in pipeline engineering. Welding neck flanges have a wide range of uses, and their application range is determined according to different characteristics. It is mostly used in mild medium conditions, such as low-pressure unpurified compressed air and low-pressure circulating water. Its advantage is that it is cheaper.

The weld neck flange is divided into several arc segments and processed as follows:

1. Forging a blank into a square blank, then cold bending into an arc section, annealing and stress relieving with heat treatment, splicing into a whole circle, and processing on a vertical lathe to obtain the designed shape and size.

2. Finally, it is transported to the construction site, and then a number of arc segments are assembled and welded into a complete special-shaped welded flange, which is assembled and welded with pressure vessels.

3. Welded neck flanges have different production standards in use and production. The production and usage of WN flanges according to the corresponding standards can ensure the practical using value and function of special-shaped stainless steel flanges.

4. As sealing and fastening connectors, welding neck flanges are widely used in aerospace, petroleum, chemical, and other large containers.
